Expectations for the New England Patriots were at an all-time low as they began their 2024-2025 season in September. After going 3-14 and having one of the worst records in the NFL last year, Pats fans were not looking forward to this season. Especially after new head coach Jerod Mayo named Jacoby Brissett the starting quarterback for week 1 and not our 3rd overall pick franchise Drake Maye. With a new team, new coaches, new players, and a new regime, the Pats were looking to find some diamonds in the rough with their skeptical squad this year. And surprisingly, it started pretty well. The Pats lost a nailbiter to the Seahawks in week 2 in overtime and then got demolished by the Jets on Thursday night football. The Pats then got exposed against the 49ers losing 30-13. This is when the quarterback controversy began. Veteran Jacoby Brissett had been increasingly underwhelming as the weeks went on and fans were very unhappy at not seeing Drake Maye get some playing time.
