On Wednesday, November 20th, thousands of workers surged through Athens, Greece, participating in a day-long strike sought by labor unions. Frustrated, these workers were fighting against rising living expenses and demanding salary agreements that had been scaled back amid Greece’s almost 10-year-long financial calamity beginning in 2010. Among these workers were medical staff at state hospitals, builders, transport workers, and educators.
