The Eastern Conference is currently hosting the defending NBA champions; the Boston Celtics, who tore through the league with a 64-18 record last season. However, during the offseason teams in the east threw their budgets out of the window, with seemingly every team loading up their roster with goals of a deep playoff run. With New York's acquisition of two-time All-NBA Center Karl Anthony-Towns, who just last season made his fourth All-Star team, they are sure to pose a threat to the reigning champs. The acquisition of Mikal Bridges from the neighboring Nets brings an already incredible defense to an even higher ceiling, with Bridges being one of the best defenders in the league, being a former all-defensive player in 2022.
